For your Tool #2 Post in YOUR blog:
1. What are your thoughts about building an online education community and participating in a PLN? I think that the sharing of knowledge is an amazing acheivement. As a teacher in the 21st century, I have much more information available to me! This information enhances my teaching because I am able to bring so much more into the conversation and to the students...I'm IN!
2. What point stood out to you from the commenting advice? Comment if you have something to say! No one is blogging to listen to the keyboard keys...it is an invitation to join the conversation, debate or inside joke.
My best thought is to keep the comment in the same vein as the blog posting...if it is a professional blog, then respond professionally...if it is a debate - keep it clean...if it is an inside joke, then let us in on it so we can laugh and enjoy too.
3. What five blogs did you select for your comments? (you may need to come back and add this information later by editing this post.)

Just a thought...
All of this technology is wonderful. It really makes it easier to bring the outside world into a classroom. It gives students the opportunity to see and "experience" things that 10 years ago, none of us would have believed.
My concern is that with all this online classes and teaching...where is the humanity??? My 3rd graders need to see me, to hug me, to know that I CARE! There is a large level of self confidence that needs to be in a child's soul to know that someone can care via the internet.
These days are filled with empty parents and role models...our children have become quite adept at texting their thoughts...but they can't write them, they can't speak them...
As an old lady, I don't want technology to take that away...

Tool #1 - Speechless
My first blog...
I can honestly say that I was VERY intimidated while I was creating this blog. I put it off for a few days...expressed interest, and then talked myself into doing something much more fun. Fun like work all my Facebook Farms!
The Avatar thing was very cool, but again, I don't have the microphones and such on my school computer. I had to highjack my daughter's new computer to feel secure enough in getting this right.
Putting my thoughts down for others to see, read and later comment (positive or negative) again means that I put my trust in today's technology and those that are required to do this same assignment.
So...I want to learn this and hope I can give my students an edge...I guess it's just like NJ writing...you never know how the students feel until you put yourself in the same place... I get the message...
Later for now...
